How to Feng Shui Cures for Christmas

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

When it comes to Feng Shui House decorating, one aspect is the necessity for cleaner air in your environment indoors. In order to achieve and maintain good Chi, you need to improve the air quality in your house. The reasoning behind this is due to the fact that air on the inside is  more harmful than air outside.

Indoor pollution is a big problem when you’re learning how to Feng Shui your house at home or work. Trying to get the help of a Feng Shui consultant, using the Feng Shui Ba-Gua eight directional map and the Feng Shui compass won’t help at all unless all aspects that you can control are at the maximum beneficial level for you, which means keeping your air indoors clean. The lucky thing is that there are quite a few indoor plants that make the grade for purifying the air in your home helping to balance your home’s Chi.

Before looking at a list of plants that will help you clean indoor air, you should understand why they are so necessary. You see, your home consists of many harmful indoor pollutants known as volatile organic chemicals or VOCs. If you have plastic products, synthetic products, carpeting and certain types of plywood within your house, these items slowly break down releasing the volatile organic chemicals. Certain air purifying plants work wonders in clearing the air.

Here is an abbreviated list of air purifying plants that will benefit your Feng Shui House:

1. Boston Fern – This beautiful plant is is excellent at getting rid of pollutants like formaldehyde in your home. These are beautifully popular plants that make a space extraordinary; however, they do need quite a bit of care from you.

2. Rubber Plant – This is another great house plant that will remove various types of pollutants, like formaldehyde. The rubber plant is quite hardy and has a constitution that is tough and can deal with cool temperatures and even low light.

3. Peace Lily – This is a popular plant around Easter time, but be sure to grab a few of these pretty flowering plants that remove quite a bit of toxins from your indoor environment.

4. English Ivy – Formaldehyde in no match for the air purifying English Ivy. This plant cleans the air and is simple to grow.

These plants can be used to purify the air in your home. However, it’s not a great idea for good Feng Shui to use them in the room you sleep in. They put out a lot of energy, and when you’re trying to sleep, this energy can be a distraction. You can use them in other parts of your home for good Feng Shui and air that is clean, but avoid using them in the bedroom.
